From Panicked Beginner to AIDA Instructor: A Story of Growth and Courage
Every freediver starts somewhere — sometimes with excitement, sometimes with nerves, and sometimes with a sense of uncertainty about what the ocean will reveal. For Praty, his journey began exactly that way. But today, he stands proudly as a newly certified AIDA Instructor, and his story has become a milestone we’re truly honored to celebrate.
A Humble Beginning
We still remember the first day Praty joined our Beginner Course. He arrived a little tense, unsure of what freediving would demand of him. Like many first-timers, the water felt overwhelming at times. But even then, one thing stood out clearly: his determination.
He pushed through his fears. He listened, practiced, and kept showing up. Every lesson, every dive, and every challenge shaped him slowly but surely.
The Transformation
Fast-forward to today — the same beginner who once struggled to relax in the water is now standing confidently on the other side, training to guide the next generation of freedivers.
His transformation wasn’t instant. It took patience, discipline, courage, and heart. But he embraced every part of the journey. That’s what makes his achievement so meaningful.
Seeing him hold his instructor certification is more than just a proud moment for him — it’s a proud moment for our entire school. It reminds us why we teach, why we support our students, and why every small progress matters.

As an AIDA Instructor, Praty is now ready to take on the incredible responsibility of leading new divers through the same path he once walked. His empathy, dedication, and lived experience make him exactly the kind of mentor beginners can trust.
He is proof that growth takes time, but with the right guidance and mindset, anyone can become stronger, calmer, and more capable in the ocean.
