From Student to Instructor — All Thanks to Deborah and Giorgio I started my freediving journey with no swimming experience at all, and today I’m proud to say I’m a freediving instructor working in Thailand — all because of the incredible guidance and support from Deborah and Giorgio. From my AIDA 1 all the way to Instructor level, they were with me every step of the way. Deborah and Giorgio are not just amazing instructors — they truly care about their students and make you feel confident, safe, and inspired. I did my AIDA 4 Master Freediver course with Giorgio and Deborah, and honestly, it was one of the best experiences of my life. I started with zero background. I wasn’t even a swimmer. But in just a month, they helped me become a Master Freediver. With their guidance, patience, and support, I was able to dive 32 meters deep, swim 75 meters underwater on a single breath, and hold my breath for 4 minutes and 11 seconds. More than the numbers, they taught me how to trust myself, stay calm, and enjoy every dive. Safety is always their top priority, and that made all the difference. Every session felt safe, encouraging, and fun. I never once felt pressured, just motivated to keep improving. Now I’m back with Debocean Freediving for my Instructor Course, and it feels like coming home. I’ve grown so much not just as a freediver, but as a person. I’ll always be grateful to Giorgio and Deborah for believing in me and showing me what’s possible when you dive with heart. 💙🌊
I did my AIDA 2-4 courses with coach deb last year, and came back this year for my AIDA Instructor Course to debocean , and I couldn't be more grateful for the whole experience. Training with Deb and Giorgio has been truly life-changing. Both of them guided me with patience, passion, and genuine care. Giorgio inspired me so much to keep improving, he wasn't just an instructor, but a mentor who believed in my potential. Deb's calm and thoughtful way of teaching made every dive feel safe and empowering. I'm also very grateful to all the staff who supported me throughout my journey, from helping with logistics to making every training day run smoothly. Their kindness and teamwork really made a difference. DebOcean isn't just a freediving school, it's a community that helps you grow, in and out of the water.
I started freediving way back 2019 as a Non Swimmer, started from zero. Giorgio as my instructor and coach from beginner, he guided me and taught me almost everything from basic equalization and line training to preparing all the gears and equipments that is use during Line Trainings, I mastered the art of setting up a safe Line dive set up even when I’m still a beginner freediver. I develop some skills in safety, not just safety but the way of you know when is the best time to act, the best timing to make sure the diver is safe even when I’m still in the beginner level. Then pandemic arrived. And then in 2022, I decided to go back to Bohol to finish my Master level, did it slowly but surely in 1 month. Then finished my Instructor Level last December 2024, it’s a 5 years journey until I reached Instructor level by the Help of Giorgio. During my course I learned how to coach an athlete for depth competitions as Giorgio and Deborah joined depth competitions and Me as their coach. He is a great mentor, a coach and an Instructor.
I joined the Zero to Hero program with Giorgio and Deb, originally I had a fear of the ocean but over the course of just one month, I went from 15 meters to 50 meters, overcoming my fear and eventually earning my AIDA Freedive Instructor certification. Giorgio was an incredible instructor, straightforward, honest, and always focused on progress. He never sugar-coated things or wasted time, his teaching was clear, direct, and effective. That approach helped me push past my limits and trust both my body and the ocean. The lessons I learned through this program didn’t end there. I took everything I learned back home to Ilocos, where my friends and I built our own freediving community with Freedive Ilocos and began sharing the beauty of this sport across the region.
Stayed with Debora and Giorgio for 3 months and did my Aida 3and 4 and instructor and trained with them for Aida compitions. Had a great time , learned incredibly lot of technics which I had no clue even though Ive been free diving almost my whole life. We even traveled to other locations where I got to see different things and experice the philipino culture and food. I've seen how students who couldn't even swim properly quickly learn how to free dive and reach incredible depths in a very short time. They always took there time for me and made me train hard to reach my goals. Training can be hard some times but always fun. On some days we would skip training and just fun dive taking pictures and videos and Debora would even edit them for me ☺️. It was a incredible time and got to know many friends through the course who will be friends for life. Giorgio and Deborah are two professional freedivers who will provide you with an incredible experience.
